audreystar Paranormal Investigation Bellevoir House in Ormsby Village - Louisville Kentucky Oct 10, 2008 6:03 PM Bellevoir means "Beautiful View" and was given the name by Hamilton Ormsby and his wife Edmonia Taylor Ormbsy (cousin of President Zachary Taylor). He had inherited the estate from his father Judge Stephen Ormbsby. The estate was famous throughout the 19th century for its dairy cattle and trotting horses and included its own railroad terminal, Ormsby Station. Brick Victorian Italianate home. Built over 120 years ago after the Civil War by Ormsby. Numerous renovations have been done on it but it is constant repair. Peeled paint can still be found throughout but so can original doors as well as chimneys and staircases. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places it is a landmark in this city. Two staircases (one used to be used for servants and then there is the main staircase), fireplace in each major room, three porches and one balcony. First floor is 2940 sq ft and second floor is 2705 sq ft. It is now used intermittently as meeting rooms for the Metro government. The interesting thing about this home are the old style windows (which true to form) have those old window defects and can sometimes lend to people seeing things that aren't really there. At one time the house was also used as a juvenile correction facility. That was in 1912 when the Ormsby decendants sold it to Jefferson County. So to follow are pictures of my 2 hour investigation of this property. Activity given on this house include footsteps on the staircase, slamming doors, images of children as well as black figures, people talking and laughing and cold spots and the feeling of being watched. We started off on the first floor and did baseline readings. It was an overcast day with rain. Temperature was in the 60's. No wind. The only temperature fluctuations I got were on the second floor "Nanny's room" where there was a two degree down temperature difference than in the other room to the left (Gentlemen's quarters). After walking through and taking the readings we did some EVP work. Unfortunately every room in the place had smoke alarms with dead batteries and every minute or so you would hear a loud beep (alerting people to change the batteries). So that essentially made my EVP recordings impossible to listen to in any detail. But this was a part of my ghosthunting class and the teacher said it was an exercise in how to do EVP recordings rather than an actual investigation. Good thing because some people kept talking throughout. Anyhoo, here are the pictures I took. I do not have a video recorder right now. But that is next on my list. I have my eye on a Sony which does extremely well in showing images even in low ambient light. Walking to the upstairs all by myself - spooky Halfway up - getting braver On the landing of the upstairs and everything is really dark and eerie Back downstairs while I am waiting on the instructor to pack up and I help her close down and walk her out. All in all I had a good time but it wasn't much of an investigation for a Ghosthunter rookie like myself. The instructor said she and her team have stayed overnight and had activity happen to them personally. I want to stay overnight there!

audreystar Waverly Hills Overnight Investigation - July 2008 Aug 2, 2008 11:36 AM Hey PP Members! :ghost: Finally got around to uploading my pictures from my Overnight Investigation at Waverly Hills! Let me know if you all see any kind of anomolies. I am still working on the audio part of my investigation. That will take me a bit longer since I have so much of it. If I hear anything I will try to post it. The front of WH. Most people do not get to go to this part. We were special. :) Another view of the front. It really is a beautiful sight. From this view you can see what a majestic hospital it used to be. Windows around the front entrance Another view of some windows by the front entrance Graffiti on the wall of the front entrance as you can walk in. It is realllllly eerie to see in person. The wall opposite the eerie graffiti. Someone has drawn Waverly Hills in graffiti. The following are pictures I took as we were investigating around the building: The Frank's box I was talking about. And no those are not orbs but dust particles. We got so dirty sitting on the floor. The next picture is on the Fourth Floor which is notorious for shadow people. I didn't catch any of these. However there is some sort of anomoly at the end of the hall. Still investigating this with my team. Kind of a cloudy type anomoly. Could be dust particle or insect. Will let you know if anything comes from this. Original resolution Photo lightened up a touch to see it better. Zoomed in a couple frames Zoomed in a couple more frames I had so much fun. It was hot as hell but we did have an awesome thunderstorm that night. In fact we were on the fourth floor (my group of 3) when the storm hit. All kinds of doors were slamming shut. Most likely from the wind. But even so if you are in Waverly Hills and doors slam shut it still gets to you. There was one time a door slammed shut and there was no wind or storm. That was cool. There was also a raccoon on the loose on the top two floors. I didn't see him but some of other people did. I don't care for raccoons so thank goodness I did not encounter him. I had a chance to speak to the guard who let us in and walked us around. I asked him how he handles going in there when he is the only one there? He said he has gotten used to it. He says as long as he can see it and know something is there and expects it he is ok. However it is the times (which he said he has encountered) when he turns a corner in those long hallways and there is a black figure standing there just looking at him. That is what he does not like. NO KIDDING MAN!! :shudder:
audreystar Waverly Hills July '08 Visit Update Jul 21, 2008 10:29 AM We had storms! :woohoo: I got lots of digital recordings that I have to sift through to hear if I got anything. Like 6 hours worth. :faint: I have pictures as well but haven't gone through them either. Got home around 5am and woke up at 12:30 so it is going to take me a bit. But for right now I will give you the highlights. We started off on the fifth floor, nothing. We headed down to the fourth floor (shadow people central) and then the thunderstorm really took off. Lots of wind which cause lots of doors banging shut and frightening us. It was hard to tell during the storm if what we were hearing were ghosts doing this or wind doing this. Probably the latter. As an investigator you have to assume it is the latter since you can't prove otherwise. Headed down to the third floor (Timmy/homeless man floor). Storm had calmed down a bit but there was still a little wind. We heard some noises like some commotion in another room and when we walked down there we could not find anything. Sat and asked for Timmy to play with us and roll the ball but he was not having any of it. Then we went to the second floor and was able to see some shadows moving in and out of a room at the beginning of the hall near the kitchen/cafeteria. So that was the first half of the night. Each team (we had four) spent 45 minutes on each floor. Then we met up and all went to the fourth floor to see shadow people. I didn't see anything. Then the guy who organized the investigation brought out his Frank's Box . I personally don't hold any stock in the Frank's box. There is no way to prove what you are hearing is an actual spirit making contact or a frequency of something else coming through and you are reading it as a response. I will post a video of someone using a Frank box so you can understand what I am talking about. Although not scientific it was fun and a great way to spend the last few hours in that place. We went to different rooms and set it up. And by golly it sure did seem we got responses from the other side. We even asked the questions again and got the same response. Like, for example, me asking the person what was their favorite color to which they replied "Red". A few questions later I asked the question again. And again we got he response of "Red". Anyhoo I will update you all once I am able to wade through all my Digital recordings. I also got the digital recordings of us using the Frank's box so you will also be able to hear what I heard. I'll do this in installments in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! Frank's box video example I pulled off Youtube:
LauraLocke Ouija Boards and other forms of divination Feb 25, 2008 10:28 AM So, what do you guys think? Some schools of thought say that by using a Ouija board, you could be opening yourself up to something unsavory. Some say the same thing about dowsing rods. Do you have any opinion about this? I'm asking because I'm doing a study on modern perception of forms of divination and their possible dangers. And also because it's a good topic of conversation. If this has been discussed before, I apologize.
