On Friday, I went on the Tour of Waverly Hills, the alleged haunted Tuberculosis hospital in Louisville, KY that was shut down years ago. The ambience was perfect as it was a dark and stormy night due to the thunderstorms in our area that night. That was spooky. Our Tour took approximately an hour and here are my thoughts of this place...It is one of the spookiest looking places I have ever been. The history is overwhelming and the respect I have for all those who died here is immense. Now, I believe there are unknown phenomena in this world and I will not say that Waverly doesn't have anything, but on my walk through the hospital I did not see, feel or hear anything out of the ordinary. That does not mean that it isn't haunted but that I didn't have any weird experiences to share. The Tour Guide would tell spooky stories about the rooms she would show and that was kind of eerie. At one point she made everyone turn off all their lights and had us stare down at the end of the hallway where supposed "shadow people" lurk. Many people were convinced they saw the shadows. I did not. But I also cannot see things in those 3-D pictures (where you are supposed to squint and stare). Oh, well who knows maybe someday I will return and have a different experience. It was so much fun though. See the following link for previous post on Waverly Tour..http://teamsugar.com/user/audreystar/9392

I live in quite an old house which has lots of friendly entites!
1This may be a dumb question, but what is a body chute? Did they put you down a shaft after you died to 'add you to the pile' of dead people? If so, then that's creepy in itself...
2the body chute is an underground tunnel that used to lead to the bottom of the hill. in the beginning they used to just transport coal and goods to the hospital but then decided to remove the bodies this way so the sick patients wouldn't see the amount of people dying an hour.
3Hey!! There you are~what happened to that pretty pic that I commented on a while back?
4How freaky! I'm currently volunteering in the Old Bethlem Mental Hospital in London, colloquially referred to as Bedlam. It's an unrelated museum now, and i am convinced it must be haunted. There was a novel written about the hospital in its heyday and i think it was called Bedlam but when i google it, David Blunt keeps coming up.
My friend went on a haunted walk through a fort in Ontario and when she came back she instantly broke into tears. It terrified her. I love those haunted tours, you learn all sorts of neat things about places that just aren't talked about. Executions, diseases, all the sordid bits that are just swept aside and generally forgotten.
5Oooo Aud! I saw this on The Most Haunted...scared the bejesus outta me!! But I would still go in a heartbeat!!!
6You've got bigger balls than me Audrey, that's for sure!
